"A visionary is a dreamer who takes action"

About “IPEV”

The "Internet Professionals / Experts / Visionaries" group is based in Toronto and meets on the second Tuesday of the month for the purpose of having an open discussion on Internet related trends, topics, and developments. To avoid long weekends, if the second Monday is a holiday, we move to the third Tuesday.

Our meetings are small, informal and held in the evening over dinner and beverages at a local pub. In order to maintain a single discussion, attendance is limited to eight people, on a first-come first-served basis. The standard open topic is "The Internet", but we frequently stray into tangents.

Membership in the group is free and open to anyone with something to say and who is willing to make a positive contribution. The name of the group is intended to reflect the people we hope to attract:

  • Professionals who are actively and directly involved with Internet related work.
  • Experts: people with specific Internet expertise, for example academics and legal experts dealing with Internet related issues.
  • Visionaries: People who think about what the Internet means in a larger sociological, political, or technological context. Aside from a capability for creative thought, there are no specific qualifications for "visionary"; it's intended to be broad in scope.

Joining

If you're interested in joining, simply reserve a (free) ticket.
